“All Tribal Members should have the ability to access health care services when they are needed.”—2000 policy statement. The CIT Tribal Council has repeatedly affirmed that quality health care is vital to the well being of its Community. The Coquille Indian Tribe’s Department of Health and Social Services includes health and wellness services at the Coquille Community Health Center, social services and family support programs, management of the CIT Community Center, Coquille Head Start, wrap-around day care, after school programs, fitness activities and other family support services provided to Tribal Members, their families and the Native American community.
The Community Health Center was developed and administered based on a Health Plan and Community Health Risk Survey developed by the Tribe. The center first opened in 1995. In 2000, it received the highest achievable accreditation from the Accreditation Association of Ambulatory Health Care (AAAHC) for its high standards and commitment to high quality care. An ongoing emphasis on quality allows the Tribe to maintain this standard.
MyNurse 24/7 nurse help-line
CIT Contract Health Services is pleased to introduce a wonderful new service – MyNurse 24/7™ nurse help line – that we are able to provide for you through CIT Contract Health Services.
Beginning on November 1, 2008, you and your eligible dependents will be able to call registered nurses who will guide you through health questions and issues 24 hours a day, 7 days a week. Your new 24/7™ nurse help line provides you with a toll free number to reach our friendly, experienced registered nurses when you may need help.
There is no cost to you and your family for this service, and you can call as many times as you need to. MyNurse 24/7™ nurses will help with questions about infant care, senior care, injuries, disease symptoms, and even assist with providing access to health information and research on new and emerging health technologies. They’ll help you decide what action to take for symptoms you’re experiencing, or to learn more about a new diagnosis. They’ll get you the information you want, when you need it.
Tribal Members in the Contract Health Service area will receive letters with the contact information the first week of November.
