Where Neighbors Meet for Friendship and Fun

The Coquille Indian Tribe and The Ko-Kwel Casino Resort are proud to support many community events throughout the year. Here are just a few of the highlights:
July 3 Fireworks
You can see fireworks almost anywhere on the Fourth of July. The Coquille Tribe’s Ko-Kwel Casino Resort beats everybody to the punch each year, with a spectacular show the night before Independence Day. Non-reserved seating is free along the boardwalk. Food and beverages are available, and a free shuttle ferries guests to and from the Pony Village Mall parking lot.

Mill-Luck Celebration
The annual return of spawning salmon has always been a joyful and reverent event for Oregon’s Native Tribes. In modern times, the Coquille people celebrate with a family-friendly event showcasing Indian culture. Dancers, drummers, storytellers and flutists offer free performances daily outside the Ko-Kwel Casino Resort. A marketplace features traditional wares and foods. Canoe races, activities for children, cultural demonstrations and educational exhibits round out the event. (And the salmon is yummy!) Ko-Kwel Casino Resort website.
BBQ Blues & Brews
Springtime on the Oregon Coast wouldn’t be complete without BBQ Blues & Brews on the Bay. This three-day festival, sanctioned by the Kansas City Barbecue Society, features savory edibles, locally crafted beers, and sizzling blues. Ko-Kwel Casino Resort website.
